The Valley Ice Chipettes

The Valley Ice Chipettes is a synchronize skating team for young figure skaters from 6- 12 years and is coached by Kiara Sonoda.  Skaters should be at the Basic Skills level 4 or above.  Skaters must be a current member of the Skating Club of Amherst and be registered for a minimum of one skating session per week (the Learn-to-Skate program qualifies).
 
The Chipettes hold off-ice and on-ice weekly practices from January through March.  The rehearsal time is Sundays from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at the Mullins Center Practice rink.  This team activity allows skaters to learn the basic skills and technique of synchronized skating.  The team performs at a UMass hockey game in late February as well as in the Skating Club's March ice show.
